Video Transcript — Why I Started My Hispanic Practice
Hello guys, my name's Alaina Hernandez and I'm a nurse practitioner and the founder of The CLiNiCA Blueprint. My journey began when I taught myself Spanish when I was 16 years old. From there I decided to attend nursing school. And once I finished nursing school, I realized that I wanted to do a little more and become a nurse practitioner. While I was a nurse for five years, I worked in the ICU and the ER.
During those years, I saw a major gap in healthcare for Hispanic families. Patients needed more than just an interpreter. They needed more than an iPad interpreter. They needed a provider who could communicate with them directly, understand their language, and respect their culture.
About a year and a half ago, I decided to open my own clinic. This was my Hispanic clinic, but building a clinic required me to learn an entirely different side of healthcare. I had to navigate business, planning, compliance, equipment, finances, technology, marketing, staffing, workflows, and all the decisions that come along with it. I learned a lot through the experience—what worked, what didn't, and what I wish someone had taught me before I had ever begun.
So that is why I created The CLiNiCA Blueprint. The CLiNiCA Blueprint is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who want to open their own clinic, especially a bilingual clinic, or integrate these services into an existing practice. Inside the blueprint I share the practical systems, tools, templates, and strategies that helped me turn my vision into a real-life clinic.
